10 Company Blogs You Shouldn’t Miss
Last week we posted a blog article titled “Ten Family History Bloggers You Should Know” to emphasize some of the great work that individual bloggers are doing in family history. This week we are following up with a look at corporate blog sites that offer many free resources and expert articles about genealogy. Let’s get started with the list—and remember that these are in alphabetical order by company, not in order of importance or number of subscribers.
- Ancestral Findings has helpful articles that are also included on their YouTube channel and as part of individual podcasts.
- Ancestry.com has one of the longest-running blog sites. Current articles go back to 2018, but the corporate blog site was around as early as 2007.
- Family History Daily serves up interesting articles right from its home page. The articles are often shared widely on social media platforms.
- FamilyTreeDNA offers cutting edge insights for genealogical research through DNA, sometimes connected to its products and sometimes more generic.
- Family Tree Magazine is a long-time resource for family history articles and how-to suggestions. It also includes free eBooks and a newsletter.
- FamilySearch has a wide variety of blog articles, with categories ranging from recipes to its free record collections.
- Findmypast is a go-to source for British Isles research and has a Friday’s Finds feature that highlights new record collections on the site.
- Legacy Tree has articles that offer a wide variety of tips and strategies for research, both in the United States and internationally.
- MyHeritage offers tools, technologies, and education resources that are highlighted in its popular blog articles.
- Price Genealogy has quite a few detailed case studies for research on its blog site, showing steps that researchers take to solve problems.
Great article. I read all of these blogs. They have great information.
