From James Tanner:
“Unrehearsed Genealogy Research, Episode 11: Confirming what is known, in New York and New England is a review of what is known and unknown. There is no way to actually contribute new information to the huge FamilySearch.org Family Tree without going through a similar process. If you are just starting out, you may have a “clean slate” for a while but as you connect with others, if you fail to look at all the sources and read about everything that shows up in the Family Tree, you will be duplicating effort in the least and adopting inaccurate and incomplete data at the worst.”
