Finding Records for Your Military Veterans

As we celebrate Memorial Day this weekend, finding our military ancestors in a variety of records can add extra meaning for us. Here are some resources in The Family History Guide that can help point you to the military records you need:

  • United States, Goal E1: Military Records provides an introduction to U.S. military records and how and where to find them.
  • United States, Goal E2: Military Records by Conflict helps you learn about the major U.S. military conflicts, such as Revolutionary War, Civil War, World Wars I and II, Korean War, etc.
  • In each of the U.S. State pages, Goal 6: Military Records has links to resources and record collections, including databases that may not be that well-known. Here is the example for California.
  • The Vault has links to over 100 additional articles and videos for general military records and records by conflict.

Happy Memorial Day to everyone!
