Introducing the Trainer’s Corner

Recently we changed up the Trainers menu in The Family History Guide a bit. We have consolidated a few of the entries, and we have introduced the Trainer’s Corner, a place to find great tips and resources for training.

Here’s a look at what you’ll find in the new Trainer’s Corner page:

Instructor Prep and Delivery

This section combines several previous sections in the Trainers menu, and it emphasizes the role of the new Sample Outlines.

Involving the Learners

This section has new material, including the following items:

  • Discussion Points—how to find key points from articles and videos linked in The Family History Guide and use them in your discussions
  • Questions that Engage—how to ask questions that help learners think about the material and share ideas
  • Visual Aids—how to use pictures, props, whiteboards, and other objects to reinforce your points
  • Exercises, Stories, and Games—how to add fun and variety to your presentation

30 Instructor Tips

These were previously called the Facebook Group Training Tips. They are now presented in this section in a handy hide/show format: one click and you can see them all.

Course Evaluation Sheets, and the In’s of Instruction

These items are the same as previously included in the Trainers menu.
