Phones and tablets are becoming an increasingly popular way to access family history. We recently introduced Projects in The Family History Guide for two FamilySearch apps: Family Tree and Memories. These are available at the bottom of the FamilySearch menu.

This week we are introducing a new Project, for the Ancestry app. It’s at the bottom of the Ancestry menu in The Family History Guide. The Word and Online Trackers have been updated with the Goals and Choices for this new Project.

Here’s a summary of the Goals and Choices in the new Ancestry App Project:

Goal 1: Navigate and Manage Your Ancestry Tree

• Choice A: View and navigate your Ancestry tree in Family view.
• Choice B: Use the Pedigree view for your tree..
• Choice C: Find people quickly in your tree..
• Choice D: View Profile information for people in your tree.
• Choice E: (Optional) Create a new family tree.

Goal 2: Edit Person Information

• Choice A: Edit Person information and relationships.
• Choice B: Edit Facts in a person’s Profile.
• Choice C: Add Facts to a person’s Profile.
• Choice D: Add or edit notes for a person.

Goal 3: Add or remove people

• Choice A: Add a relative for a person in your tree.
• Choice B: Review a potential relative to be added.
• Choice C: Merge a duplicate person in your tree.
• Choice D: Remove a person from your tree.

Goal 4: Explore hints

• Choice A: Find and view hints for individuals in your tree.
• Choice B: Choose an action for a hint and view hint results.

Goal 5: View and add sources

• Choice A: View or remove sources for a person.
• Choice B: Add a source for a person.
• Choice C: Use filters and ranges in record searches.
• Choice D: Track and resolve conflicting information in genealogy lines.

Goal 6: View Ancestral Places

• Choice A: Get started with Ancestral Places.
• Choice B: Use additional Ancestral Places features.

Goal 7: Add media and use the Ancestry Gallery

• Choice A: Add and manage Lifestory events.
• Choice B: View, edit, or delete Gallery items.
• Choice C: Add a Gallery item.
• Choice D: Update an ancestor’s profile photo.

Goal 8: Manage your tree and account

• Choice A: Manage your tree settings.
• Choice B: Update basic account settings.
• Choice C: Update membership settings.
• Choice D: Update site preferences.
• Choice E: Update other settings.
