The “Years” Project Wraps Up
The “Years” project is the task of adding the year of origin for most articles and videos in The Family History Guide. It started with the entries in the Vault, and now just about every Project page on the site has the years added for links. With some sites, the year of creation for the article or video can’t be determined, so those are left blank. Having the years easily visible helps you get a perspective on the timing of the article, and it helps us to periodically update link resources in The Family History Guide.
What’s Next?
We are currently doing a variety of maintenance or enhancement tasks for the website, and one of them is adding Info buttons for video links. The Info buttons enable you to see a list of useful topics and timings inside the videos, so you can jump directly to what you’re interested in.
Here’s an example of the links for an Info button, from Goal A1 in the United States page:

We hope to greatly expand the number of Info links in The Family History Guide over the next few months for your convenience.
