What’s New?

It has been a busy few months at The Family History Guide, with a lot of miscellaneous updates and items. Here’s a quick recap of what we’ve been up to lately:

BYU Webinar: What’s New in The Family History Guide

This was given on May 24, 2019 by Ann Tanner. It’s posted on the YouTube Channel for the BYU Family History Library; you can find the video link here.

Show Me Video for Project 1, Goal 10

The latest Show Me video is for FamilySearch Project 1, Goal 10 (Notes). It’s on our YouTube Channel as well as in the header area in Goal 10.

FamilySearch Project 1: Family Tree, Goal 11 (Merging)

Goal 11 now has individual steps to guide you through merging duplicate ancestors in Family Tree. It also has links to articles that explain how to detect possible duplicates and how to undo a merge that has been done.

Updates to QUIKLinks

We’ve added over 100 QUIKLinks for Findmypast record collections from all over the world. You can find them embedded in Country, state, and province pages in The Family History Guide. Also, the formatting for QUIKLink tables has been improved to be more uniform.

Topics: Choice Indicators

We’ve also added “Choice indicators” at the end of some entries in the Topics page. For example, the “periodicals” link includes “(D)” to let you know that the information you’re looking for is in Choice D in the target page.

New: Pass-along Cards for The Family History Guide

Spoiler alert: We will be announcing our new pass-along cards for The Family History Guide this coming week, so stay tuned!
