2. Select the second magnifying glass icon.
3. Select the fourth option, "BAPTISMS 1563-1874 MARRIAGES 1568-1875 + Archersoftware."
4. Locate the set of marriage records that encompasses the given years for the marriage and occurs in the St. Nicholas Parish.
5. Select the batch number for this record set (M111681).
6. Enter the surname for Robert into the designated box and click Submit.
7. The marriage of Robert Birch and Bathia Stewart should be the only record to appear. Select the record to answer the questions.
Answers
1. The couple was married on 5 April 1861.
2. The marriage record tells us the couple's names (maiden name for Bathia), genders, the specific location and parish of their marriage, and the date of their marriage. Further information might come from looking at the original copy of the record or by linking other records to the couple.
