From Come, Follow Me:
The events described in 3 Nephi 9–11 are among the most sacred in the Book of Mormon. Read them slowly, and ponder carefully. Here are some questions to help you. Consider recording the impressions that come to you.
"Each time you choose to try to live more like the Savior, you will have your testimony strengthened. You will come in time to know for yourself that He is the Light of the World….You will come to feel light growing in your life…. You will be a light to the world as you share your testimony with others. You will reflect to others the Light of Christ in your life." Henry B. Eyring, A Living Testimony. Also watch this personal testimony of the Savior from President Eyring.
"Generations are affected by the choices we make. Share your testimony with your family; encourage them to remember how they felt when they recognized the Spirit in their lives and to record those feelings in journals and personal histories so that their own words may, when needed, bring to their remembrance how good the Lord has been to them." Ronald A. Rasband, Lest Thou Forget
Read A Mother's Love—Blessing Lives through the Generations and talk about a legacy that can help strengthen your family as time goes on. Ponder how your recorded experiences can build a legacy that can last through the generations yet to come. Not only that, but think about how your written testimony can be shared in many ways to influence your living family members. The author gives the following ideas to consider including as you share your testimony in your writings
Hand-write, type, or video or audio your testimony and preserve using the FamilySearch Memories Audio App, the "Record My Story" feature on FamilySearch Discovery, or use this link. You can also visit the FamilySearch Center in Salt Lake City, or another FamilySearch Center and use available story rooms.
What a blessing for generations to come to hear your voice sharing the message you want them to know and remember! Read more here.

I can learn to hear and understand God’s voice.
From Come, Follow Me:
How do you know when God is speaking to you? Perhaps the experience of the people in 3 Nephi 11:1–8 can help you understand some principles of hearing and understanding God’s voice.
Hear Him’ through Temple and Family History Work
“...please schedule regular time to worship and serve in the temple. Every minute of that time will bless you and your family in ways nothing else can. Take time to ponder what you hear and feel when you are there. Ask the Lord to teach you how to open the heavens to bless your life and the lives of those you love and serve."
"...I invite you to increase your participation in family history, including family history research and indexing. I promise that as you increase your time in temple and family history work, you will increase and improve your ability to hear Him." President Russell M. Nelson, Hear Him
An idea to help both individuals and families do temple and family history work more consistently comes from an address Sister Wendy Nelson gave to the sisters of the church in a women's conference talk in 2015.
She offered the invitation to busy, overburdened sisters to do some temple and family history work each day for 21 days and then to watch what happened. She was concerned that adding one more thing to their list of things "to do" would make them even more burdened but the opposite was true for all who participated. Even a few minutes per day helped them to see miracles in their lives and the lives of their families. Although this challenge was given to sisters of the church, it is applicable to everyone. Here are the links to the PDF and the video of Sister Nelson's talk:
You may also want to join the Facebook group for The Twenty-one Day Family Connections Experiment (a family history project) and select a plan to follow for ideas and motivation. Read more about it here.
President and Sister Nelson invite all church members to make a sacrifice of time to do family history and temple work (see Open the Heavens through Temple and Family History Work).
Other Resources to help you fit family history into your life:
Discuss ideas and options and make a plan! Think about routines and traditions you can create to do temple work and to make connections with those who have gone on before and living relatives. Calendar your goals and record how you will work toward them.
Learn how to sign in and navigate FamilySearch here (FamilySearch Project 1, Goal 1 in The Family History Guide). Continue with FamilySearch Goals 2 - 14. Read how Projects, Goals and Choices enable your continued learning.
Use The Family History Guide Online Tracker to document your progress. The Trackers will enable you to study for as little or as long as time allows and then you mark where you left off so you know exactly where to begin the next time.
Jesus Christ invites me to gain a personal witness of Him.
From Come, Follow Me:
About 2,500 people were gathered at the temple in Bountiful when Jesus Christ appeared (see 3 Nephi 17:25). Despite this large number, the Savior invited them each “one by one” to feel the nail prints in His hands and feet (3 Nephi 11:14–15). As you read, imagine what it might have been like to be there. In what ways is the Savior inviting you to “arise and come forth unto” Him? (3 Nephi 11:14).
Write questions to encourage the sharing of testimonies of Christ on slips of paper and place in a basket.
Take turns drawing one slip from the basket and sharing your feelings and gratitude for the Lord's hand in your lives (see O Remember, Remember - watch a video clip here).
Share your testimony as our leaders are doing.
In an August 2014 talk, Elder David A. Bednar counseled church members to share "messages that are authentic, edifying and praiseworthy—and literally to sweep the earth as with a flood."
See LDS Church leaders share testimonies of Jesus Christ on social media, President Nelson encourages Latter-day Saints to Share joy of the Savior, and President Russell M. Nelson on Instagram (@russellmnelson).
Write one story about your life as you study each Come, Follow Me lesson. Save as a story (or audio-record it) and add it to your FamilySearch memories.
