About
The Family History Guide: It's free. It's fantastic. And it's for you.
www.thefhguide.com
The Family History Guide can help you:
Accelerate your learning and your progress!
From the top menu, select Faiths, and then Church of Jesus Christ.
Reserving/Printing Ordinances
The Church of Jesus Christ page of The Family History Guide makes it easier to find names for ordinances. You'll learn how to do traditional and descendancy research, and use the Ordinances Ready tool for finding ordinances to perform.
Once you've found names to take to the temple, The Family History Guide walks you through the process of reserving those names and printing ordinance sheets to take to the temple. Imagine the joy of doing temple work for your own ancestors, not only names that the temple provides.
Activities
In the Activities menu, you'll see entries that take you to pages for Families, Individuals, Youth, and Children. The Latter-day Saint Resources areas contain links to inspiring activities for family history, ideal for family home evenings or other occasions.
Come Follow Me Companion
The Come Follow Me Companion for family history provides weekly inspirational family history activities correlated with Come Follow Me on LDS.org.
Getting Inspiration
Goal 7 is titled "Get Inspiration for Your Family History Journey." It contains
Discover, Gather, Connect
Goal 8 in the Church of Jesus Christ page is "Use the Discover, Gather, Connect Program". The Family History Guide is a great enabling tool to help you discover temple names (Research, Descendancy, etc.), gather them to the temple (Printing & Reserving Ordinances), and connect w/ others (Training section).
Consultant Planner
The Consultant Planner on LDS.org is a great tool for helping Temple and Family History Consultants work with patrons. The Family History Guide provides a wealth of resources for setting goals with patrons, as well as empowering patrons to continue their research even more effectively.
