Note: A trial version of Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., is included on most new PCs. You can also download LibreOffice for free, which contains similar programs: Writer, Calc, and Impress.

A Use tutorials for Microsoft Excel.


  1. Get started with video tutorials for Microsoft Excel. Watch the "Workbooks and cells" series to get an intro to Excel, design workbooks, and add text and data to spreadsheets.
  2. Use the GCFLearnFree online tutorials 1-17 for Microsoft Excel to learn basic skills.
  3. Use the GCFLearnFree online tutorials 18-24 to learn additional skills.
  4. Use the Digital Unite online tutorials on How to Use Microsoft Excel. Then follow the "Next" links (lower right) to study each additional topic. Topics include learning about spreadsheets, creating a budget spreadsheet, doing sums and percentages, etc.
