Goal 1: Find opportunities to review records and indexes.

Indexing makes records searchable online. Computer-assisted indexing greatly speeds up this process, and you have the opportunity to correct and clarify indexes, place names, and record hints.

  5. If you're not sure whether the box spelling matches the record, click Unsure to advance to the next name.
  6. If the highlighted text in the record is not a person's name, click Not a Person (twice) to advance to the next name.
