1. In the DNA menu, click Buy a Test (or Buy Another Test). You may also be able to buy a test kit at a trade show, from a friend, etc.
2. Select the number of tests to buy.
3. Fill in the Payment & Address information and click Proceed to Checkout. Once you complete your online order, allow time for the kit to be shipped to your address.

The instructions that come in the test kit are usually sufficient to help you complete and activate the test. For more information, follow the steps below. To manage your DNA test settings, see Goal 10.

1. In the top menu, double-click DNA.
2. Click any of the following buttons to learn more: See Instructions, Watch Video, or Read FAQ. You can also read the links near the bottom of the page to learn about privacy and terms and conditions.
3. Click the Continue as (your name).
4. In the Get Started screen, click your name to activate your test, or click My child to activate a test for one of your children.
5. Click the terms of agreement box and then click Next.
6. Follow the prompts on the next few screens to complete activation.
7. Link your DNA test results to your Ancestry tree. See the steps in this article.
